This photo was taken before the bus had even pulled away from school. They were thrilled just to be out of class. And--despite what it looks like, the bus was perfectly silent during this little celebration.
Unfortunately, we did not watch the film. I can imagine that, had we, some of them would have reacted to the curtain opening in much the same way that Craig did when he was here a while back.
I know that this photo captures just a brief moment, but it reminds me of when I watch Molly smile or laugh out loud in her rapturous almost-2-years-old way. Sometimes I wonder if she will always be this happy or if I were ever that happy as child. But it's enough for me to relish the moment and let it soak in.

Fort McHenry has that affect on many a soul.
Nice to see such happy children. Good work, teach.
And by that I meant effect.
Oops.
These kids must have seen the Fort McHenry historical filmstrip and climactic flag display.

A bus full of hope . . .

Isn't teaching kids excellent? This is just the kind of moment when I feel it.
